Day 90 (Thu 10/05) Escape from Sierra Nevada

Mag & I realized that we were in over our heads. We were cold, couldn't see because of the snow and had poor traction. We hitched a ride with a couple & baby and put our bikes in the back of their pickup. Space was limited so Mag rode in the cab and I sat in the bed w bikes. I was so cold I was shivering waiting for lower altitude. Many vehicles became disabled or crashed & police closed the pass.
