Day 39 09:30 reporting from Dighton Bowl & Cafe

9:30 am. Dighton Bowl & Cafe. We're flying along today. Mag was worried that without much breakfast in our stomachs and the limited reserve of groceries (we had a fair amount of food that would require firing up the alcohol stove, but we prefer to avoid that due to the amount of time involved) the 32 miles from Ness City to Dighton would be harder. Fortunately, we had winds from the east at our backs and cool temps (less than 70F I think) and we made Dighton by 9 am. Mag and I got multiple breakfasts (I'm having 2 pancakes, hash browns, and 2 biscuits with sausage gravy); Dave (a vegetarian) is eating more sparingly but in any case we are reviewing the maps thinking that we should try to make it as far west as possible while we have the winds at our backs and the temperatures are cool.
