Day 40 Wed 08:45 foggy (deja vu)

08:45 We plan to go about 40 miles today from Scott City, KS to Tribune, KS; we are trying to avoid any long days due to lack of services (there is a substantial break in services after Tribune).

Because of the shorter day and cool weather we slept in until 06:30, had breakfast and left at 08:00.

It is foggy again with wind from the south and we have a shoulder of modest size (about the width of a loaded bike). Those passing semis do a good job of blowing us around when they pass. The tanker semis seem to disrupt us more than other types, such as cargo or cattle haulers, we're not sure why. (Dad, you have an aerodynamics background, why would the shape of the tanker truck be more turbulent?)
