Day 4 - Narrowsburg - Hancock, NY stayed with Gene
Maggie and I are in Hancock, Ny, me for the second time in a week. After a grinding day of burning sun, Maggie's problem with her front derailleur (the adjustment seems to drift, it rubs in 1-1, requires a lot of force to shift and often can't shift into the large chainring) and punishing grades, it was a relief for us to arrive at Gene's house where I stayed previously while cycling eastbound to meet Maggie and have a comfortable home waiting to host us.
Gene's Brazilian exchange student was in residence, though was gone for much of the evening visiting a lady friend of his acquaintance. Maggie and I went to the village grocery store and bought chicken, mushrooms, garlic, spinach, broccoli, cooking wine, tomatoes so that Maggie could cook dinner for us. After cycling all day, Maggie and I could devour the delicious chicken marsala without repercussions. Naturally, Gene ate generously as well.
