Sat 12/02: REI garage sale

We got up at about 06:30 and rode our bikes to Berkeley to get tickets to the REI Garage Sale. The tickets are free, but you have to arrive early to get early entry, which increases likelihood of getting desirable items. We arrived just after 07:00 and about 15-20 people were already there. They passed out tickets around 08:00, fortunately we were in the first group (10:00 - 10:20) of shoppers.

It was pretty crazy, so many people running and grabbing stuff since you get only 20 minutes in the sale area. A lot of stuff we took initially we later decided not to get. I bought: a floor bicycle pump for Jen's place ($10), REI Sahara down sleeping bag ($45), REI camp dome 2 tent ($10), a day glo riding vest ($20), an REI 45UL backpack ($20). Also I bought some day-glo stickers from the regular store to make ourselves more visible.
