Day 36 10:30 41 miles past Emporia (west)

We have made good time on hwys 50 & 150 - 41 miles - to near Marion KS where we are having a snack break of a peach and yogurt.

Though it will be hot today (95F), at least on hwy 50 the shoulders were a full lane width and well paved if you can avoid the rumble strips, and traffic has been light. The shoulders are narrower on hwy 150 but they are adequate and there aren't many rumble strips.

The terrain is gently rolling and there is a breeze from the SE. We are going to McPherson on hwy 56 for the night which is 36 miles away.
