12/25: stressful xmas eve

Jen didn't sleep much last night; we rode out of town to shorten the distance we would have to ride tomorrow. However we ended up camping next to the road; I thought that there wouldn't be much traffic on X-mas eve but actually trucks were going by all night, Jen hardly slept at all. Plus the wind was howling causing our little REI Quarterdome tent to flap.

Also, it has been much colder at night than we expected. We are pushing our gear and Jen is sometimes cold at night.
