Day 33 (Clinton, MO) Sam at Clinton Mower and Saw Shop
This morning when Campy and I were hitting the road from the Methodist church after breakfast around 8 am, my right rear brake spring broke when I was trying to tension it so it wouldn't rub my rim. The bike shop opens at 10 but Sandi at the tourist office suggested the Clinton mower shop because Sam who works there is an avid cyclist.
Sam gave me a replacement brake arm free of charge (he happened to have a right V-brake arm)
Sam is a serious cyclist. He does multiple mountain passes in a single day, he qualified for RAAM by riding 441 miles in 24 hours, and he did the 240+ mile limestone Katy trail in a single day from sunrise to sunset.
