Day 67 (9/12) (no photos) Monticello, UT, stay at 1st Baptist Church

(Can't post photos)

After the Utah border, there was about 9 mi of construction repaving work taking place. The 2 lane road was down to a single lane for both directions, so there was a queue of cars and trucks waiting for the alternating escort from the pilot car. Fortunately, since we were on comparatively narrow bicycles, we were able to squeeze in the single lane allowing traffic to pass alternately in both directions. We passed relatively unimpeded and in fact it was rather peaceful with low vehicular traffic.

Based on our mutual condition, but especially mine, Mag and I agreed to stay in Monticello, UT for the evening. Thanks to Pastor Olsen in Dolores, CO calling ahead for us, Pastor Williams at the 1st Baptist Church here in Monticello, UT has agreed to let us stay at the church (and they have a shower - yippie!).

We've been at the library for about an hour. Mag is working on her blog. I've been mostly looking at replacement tires (20" and 26") for my bike as well as reviewing accounts.

At some point perhaps I will feel hungry and then Mag & I can get some lunch, then I will retire to the Church for some rest.
